Subject: "Triumph of the Will" Trivia

A few questions, but mostly commentary, this post....

First, the questions: why were subsequent Party Days not
"documented"? How come this wasn't in color? What's with all the
continuity issues?? And how come so many images were reversed (with
men's outfits buttoned to their left, etc.)??? Did the other
dictators like Mussolini and Stalin attempt similar cinematic
"documents"?? Why would the Japanese be invited to the Parteitag??
(I know they were fellow Axes of Evil, LOL, but still...didn't they
[the Germans] consider it very strange, even with politics being what
it is?? Like, did the Soviets get invited once Molotov-Ribbentrop was
signed and toasted?? How many years did those Party Days go on for,
anyway???)

Also, during the last march-by of SS-LAH (were they even called that
at this time?), did that last Sturmmann take a stumble?!

And it was funny how Sepp Dietrich saluted Rudolf Hess with a big
smile at that march-past but Hess hardly noticed him with a quick and
weak half-salute in return.

And what about some of them, what, NCOs, who don't carry swords?
Also, what's with that style of marching, with the "free arm" swinging
to and fro...I've seen other video of goose-stepping Wehrmacht who
usually keep both arms stiff and straight at their sides.

Going through this film again, one thing struck me immediately:
Himmler can't march for his life! He is *always* out-of-step!! And
where's Heydrich? I'm surprised he wasn't given any camera time on
this. How did they determine whom to showcase, anyway?

And Viktor Lutze seems like a timid fellow...I don't know why, but his
body language suggests someone really timid and compliant. And what a
really shrill high-pitched voice!

If I have a favorite scene, it's got to be that part near the end
(just before the LAH comes marching in) where, apparently, a mom, the
grandmom, and a teenage son in HJ uniform are looking out their
window. None of them are saluting or smiling or screaming like almost
everyone else in the film. The kid's just, like, looking around,
while the mom and oma, seem, one imagines, weary, even skeptical, and
half-resigned. The soundtrack sort of trails off just at that moment,
too, interestingly.

Anyway, is there some book or online resource full of such trivia?
Wow, was there any economic benefit to such huge rallies? I assume no
one was paid to show up, right? Etc.

TIA
