.....not to mention the mighty C-46 (PREGNANT WHALE), which was the largest
twin engine transport of its day.

Sorry about that, but we all have our claims to fame that we're obliged to
make known to one and all. I couldn't resist the opportunity. BTW, I never
got to fly one until the Korean War days, by which time they had figured out
what was making them blow up on routine flights over the Hump (short
circuits in the fuel booster pump) and fixed it.
