I once saw a restored Ford built jeep which had the Ford script logo
stamped or cast into every large part. The owner told me that most of
Ford's jeeps were sent to the Soviet Union. The Soviets usually tried
to tell thier people that all of the equipment they used was built in
the USSR even the lend lease vehicles and planes. The story continues
that when Ford heard that the Soviets were claiming to have built
"his" jeeps he ordered the Ford script to be added to every part on
the Ford built jeeps so that there would be no doubt even to the
Soviets who built them. Any truth to that tale?
