Jewish Infantry Brigade Group.
Officially formed 28 September 1944 in Egypt but did not really
begin to function until 6 October 1944. Lt Col P F A Growse
acting CO, Brigadier E F Benjamin appointed commander 20
October 1944.
In Egypt 6 to 31 October 1944, at sea 31 October to 5 November,
in Italy 5 November to 27 July 1945, travelled by road to join 21
Army Group in North West Europe 30 July 1945. Where it became
line of communications troops.
Battle honours 14 to 21 April 1945 at Bologna as part of X corps
troops.
Brigade made up of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Palestine Regiment.
Had 1st Palestine light AA battery attached until 8 December 1944.
The Jewish field (artillery) regiment 11 to 19 February 1945, then the
200th field regiment for the rest of the war.
