Merely seemed to have accepted it as such. And continue to do so.

So, you seem to think that Alien Space Bats, UFOs and Japanese subs
*were* involved?

Unsurprising.

Because the families of the Sydney's officers and men would like to
know?

Certainly the sons of the captain would like to clear their father's
name if, indeed, he did nothing wrong and Detmers was a war criminal
and, I would suggest, have a perfect right to be able to do so.

Or would you disagree?

I would hazard a guess that you would ... please do state if you do
not.
