SNIP:
Not so long ago I watched a History Channel TV program and it had a
snip of a US Army training film about the MG42 and what to do about
it. It showed the 42 in use so the GIs would be informed as to what it
sounded like when fired. The sound is quite distinctive compared to
other MGs. It was immediately obvious to me that rumors concerning the
42 'buzzsaw' were a morale problem to the GIs, especially the new
ones, and this film was to explain hey, it's just another MG and you
counter it the same way as all the others you will have to face.
