No.

Besides, both were needed: only the B-29 could carry Fat Man to the
Empire over the distance involved.

If you think the cost of a half-dozen atomic bombs was prohibitive,
what about the cost of pursuing World War Two for four years? And
afterward, we built not a half-dozen but thousands of nukes.
