The book The Campaigns of the Pacific War by the United States
Strategic Bombing Survey (Pacific) Naval Analysis Division, United
States Government Printing Office Washington: 1946 Chapter 5: The
Battle of Midway online at
http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/AAF/USSBS/PTO-Campaigns/USSBS-PTO-5.html
or http://tinyurl.com/rlpvo has:

"Although the B-17s of the Seventh Air Force based at Midway made 62
sorties for horizontal bombing attacks, testimony of Japanese
survivors indicates that no hits were scored by this means."

There is also a pictorial chart of the B-17's closest hits and the
other hits made in the battle.
