--- quoting from Quantum Generations by Helge Kragh 1999, page 378 ---
... Josephson predicted that the superconducting quantum state should
be able to leak through
a barrier between two superconducting materials. The Josephson effect,
predicted in 1962, was quickly confirmed
experimentally and used in advanced measurement technology.
--- end quoting ---
To Josephson in 1962 and other superconductor theorists, the idea of
leakage impressed them. Impressed
them because they were looking at superconductivity from a fake theory
viewpoint.
Suppose if Josephson and physicists of his time had said that
superconductivity is merely Capacitance
Current and Dielectric effect. Suppose Capacitor Current was their
basic theory of how superconductivity
works. Well, you can imagine where I am going with this conversation.
That if Josephson had started
from the vantage point that superconduction was merely Capacitor and
dielectric theory that a barrier
is merely a plate capacitor or merely another dielectric.
As an American would ask Josephson, "so where is the beef?"
I do not have time to get into the math of the Josephson effect and
for which I see that Tinkham in his
book Introduction to Superconductivity, 1996 spends an entire chapter
on it.
What I anticipate is that now that we have a true correct theory of
Superconductivity as a Capacitor Current
then the Josephson Effect becomes merely another dielectric or another
plate in a parallel plate capacitor.
