Oh my! This may be between you and "maxwell" but I just HAVE to say
something!
Uh, Fred, do you know what "hubris" is? It is followed inevitably and
inexorably by nemesis!

"THE ONLY REAL BIG MYSTERY LEFT IS hbar"!!!!!

BWAHAHAHAhahaha!

Do you have any idea just how many times in the history of science
that "experts" have asserted that "virtually everything" was known
except for a little clean-up work here and there? Sheesh!

Quite frankly the quantum world on the very FACE of it is "science of
ignorance"! It has God playing dice with the universe all over the
place and nobody is even suggesting that the emperor just might have
his bare butt hanging out!

You want proof your statements are nonsense? I refer you to all the
discussions here on photons. How does the same thing act as both
waves and particles? How are CW radio waves and light BOTH particles?
How do photons go through just ONE slit and yet be aware of the
existence of a second slit? How exactly do energy level "jumps"
create photons? How do conducting antennas shed photons and ship them
into space? What is the relationship between accelerated charge and
photons? How are photons deflected by vector magnetic potential? Look
in the literature! Cripes, the list is ENDLESS! And somehow you think
QM has "explained" it all except for hbar?

Wow!

Here's my view of QM: I flip a coin a bunch of times. I produce the
math that says on average I will get as many "heads" as "tails". I
therefore assert that I have totally "explained" the physics of
tossing coins and "prove" it by actually tossing a coin a bunch of
times and observing that I pretty much get as many heads as tails!
And then as icing on the cake I assert that any time a coin is tossed
it is totally impossible to predict if the given outcome will be heads
or tails no matter what you do!
