I brought my HDD into work and hooked it up as a Slave in an XP machine, on
boot the drive was detected "Volume is Dirty" and XP automatically ran CHKDSK
after that I put the drive back in the original machine and it booted up no
problem and continued to configure the updates. After that it was all sorted!
