Why don't you source your information outside left-liberal rags?
Kathleen Parker wrote for today (or yesterday) an opinion column on
the political flux in Iraq and the fact that no one has a crystal ball
as to the outcome, but also that Iraqis who have been on both sides of
the argument for continued American presence have the good sense to
realize their best option is on the side of Western-style government.
You might even find the column in some of those liberal rags you like
reading.

Leftists are always fond of falling back on the nostalgia of the good
ol' days of socialist dictatorship, and have no confidence in the
power of democracy, free-market and free speech, and some even look
forward to installing such socialist authoritarianism in the the
U.S.A., for which a President Obama would be a useful and subservient
tool.
