QVCs IT division has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to become a Java Developer II in our Applications Development department at our Studio Park location.  

The successful candidate:
- will develop, support, and test software for the Order Entry Systems at QVC
- will have responsibility for the support of new or existing application program software
- will have responsibility for addressing defects and enhancements
- will design and create application specific services, components and user interfaces  
- will be responsible for developing and testing services, components and user interfaces in accordance with the adopted standards
- will perform software builds and deploy application code which will involve working with internal QVC staff to define and develop any changes required of the existing QVC systems to support the new application  
- must have a strong programming and design background and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of training and experience
- At least 3 or more years of overall IT experience
- Demonstrated technical proficiency (at least 1-2 years experience) with: Java, J2EE, OOAD
- Preferred experience in Spring Framework, Websphere, .NET, ASP, DB2  
In-depth working knowledge of high level programming languages.
- In-depth working knowledge of file structures & DBMS.
- In-depth working knowledge of applications development methodologies
- Practical working knowledge of multiple platforms.
- Experience in creating and delivering projects for the full Object Oriented SDLC utilizing UML
- Knowledge of business functions
- Ability to review assigned tasks for clarity on provided time estimates, start and end dates
- Ability to evaluate the risks and benefits on tasked assignments
- Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and corporate culture
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with a strong understanding of business and how technology is used to solve business problems

Strongly Preferred:
- Experience in Applications Development & Business Analysis
- Experience with Order Entry Systems and/or Electronic Retail
- Experience in the use of Rational tools
