Programmer/Designer – Hire to Retire Systems U. S.Steel has an immediate opening for a Programmer/Designer at thePittsburghServiceCenterlocation. The successful candidate will perform the functions of a programmer/designer for the Active/Retired Employee Systems teams, which support various Human Resource and Employee Benefit applications in COBOL/IMS and Natural/Adabas programming languages. Support will include gathering specifications, analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of maintenance and enhancement requests, as well as follow-up and problem analysis for these applications. Work assignments are to be completed following the U.S. Steel BSC Standard Operating Procedures.

UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION IS AN EO/AA EMPLOYER

Requirements: Must have a Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or computer related field. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years recent work experience (within the past 6 years) in designing and programming in COBOL and/or Natural business applications, as well as IBM mainframe tools and utilities. Other Skills: Additional work experience or training in IMS or SAS, would be considered a plus. Candidate should be self-motivated and have good technical, analytical, and communication skills. Candidate should be able to work in a team environment and manage multiple priorities for timely completion of assignments. Experience in human resource or benefits applications would be considered a plus.
