Overview:
The Solutions Architect I position is responsible for performing complex software and data architecture, analysis, design, and documentation. The position also requires the ability to perform highly sophisticated and complex data modeling and programming tasks to support the business systems of the company. Persons filling the position must be a champion at new and multi-platform software languages, component architecture, data architecture, data integration, and RDBMS technologies. Persons filling the position are expected to lead team and department meetings and providing technical guidance and leadership to all personnel within the Information Technology Department.
Responsibilities:
• Provide application level analysis, design and documentation as requested by firm’s project initiatives.
• Responsible for communicating the status of tasks assigned to the Manager of the project.
• Responsible for the creation and execution of the Unit Test cases for each coding assignment.
• Responsible for solving technical problems for a project. Software coding and database modeling/creation are the primary responsibilities.
• Analyze complex systems, design, test case and implementation tactics across aspects of a project.
• Write and test computer programs from specifications.
• Excute logical and phisical data modeling activities contained within the project execution plan.
• Execute the software development activities contained within the software development plan.
• Write documents for project progress reports, and code documentation. These documents may communicate highly complex information to individuals who may or may not be technically oriented.
• Responsible for the software architecture of a given project to ensure the requirements are met.
• Understands complex programming techniques including, but not limited to, database connectivity, programming languages, standards, methods and tools.
• Act as a mentor to Data Management Team Members by providing technical guidance and acting as a leader to lower classified personnel and act in a training role as requested.
• Act as a technical resource to all members of the Development Team and the entire Information Technology Team and act in a training role as requested.
• Act as an agent of change in support of new development techniques and processes as directed by the Management Team.
• Actively work with other Developers, IT Team Members, Non-IT Project Members, or Third Parties to resolve issues and ensure the proper flow of information to the Project Team.
• Coordinate development timelines with outside resources to ensure that the project requirements and goals are achieved.
• Provide leadership in the implementation of new technologies, methodologies, and procedures within the organization.
• Effectively identify and utilize the appropriate tools required for system and program development.
• Perform program maintenance as directed by the Manager of Applications Development.
• Adhere to organization, department, and industry guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
• Promote the company culture by approaching each day with a team-oriented and can-do attitude.
Qualifications:
• Persons filling this position should have a four-year college degree, or equivalent experience.
• Persons filling this position should have 5 or more years of professional experience as a programmer and possess strong organizational, team and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Creativity, individual initiative, excellent problem solving skills, ingenuity, integrity, self-discipline, excellent oral and written communication skills, customer sensitivity are attributes that are essential to the performance of assigned duties in complex or new projects
• Ability to work independently and creatively with a minimum of direct supervision.
• Ability to identify and create plans to resolve issues.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with others and utilizing persuasion and teamwork relationships.
• Ability to plan, organize, implement, identify problems and resolutions, adjust, evaluate work performed by self in a complex and dynamic work environment.
• Ability to act as a leader within a team and motivate other individuals to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to display proficiency in the use of complex SQL DML/DDL usage.
• Must be able to display proficiency in complex component design and development.
• Must be able to display proficiency in new multi-platform programming languages and environments.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in five or more of the following skills: J2EE framework, .Net framework, XML, BPM, RDBMS (SQL Server 2005, Oracle10g, MySQL)
