Position Description: Job Title: Senior Web Developer Department: Information Technology Reports To: Director of Software Development, E-Commerce Position Summary: Designs and develops web software that automates and enhances specific business processes. Communicates and works with internal clients to determine the process and results required, and other systems interfacing with or impacting the current and desired outcomes. Responsibilities: ? Writes and maintains (as required) functional and technical specifications ? Designs website and infrastructure ? Converts designs and specifications into computer code. ? Works with architectural team to perform logical data modeling on the transactional and data warehouse data models; maintains certain databases. ? Designs and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems. ? Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process. ? Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm program meets specifications. ? Analyzes codes to find causes of errors and revises programs. ? Supports the development team in the creation, optimization and implementation of queries and views to support application functionality. Supports certain applications ? Monitors performance of programs after implementation ? Performs other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. Education/Experience: ? BS degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems. ? Minimum of 5 years programming experience. ? Experience in a web eCommerce development environment. ? Extensive experience in Java/J2EE enterprise development (4+ years). ? Strong knowledge of object oriented design patterns, concepts and programming. ? Knowledge of Web-services and SOA ? Knowledge of programming frameworks like MVC/Struts/Spring/Hibernate/Fusebox/ MachII. ? Data modeling, SQL, and RDBMS experience. ? XML/XSLT ? Experience with JDBC, JMS, JMX, and RMI Competencies: ? Experience with ATG Commerce package ? Experience with Cold Fusion including UDF, CFC, Custom Tags development a MAJOR plus ? Visual Basic, C++, COM/.net, client side markup/ scripting which include XHTML. DHTML, javascript, vbscript, CSS, (perl/php experience a plus) ? Ability to articulate; good communication skills ? Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing ? Ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. ? Ability to train users in complex topics ? Independent problem solving and self direction ? Ability to work on a team ? Experience with relational DB concepts ? Accurate planning and projection skills ? Dependability ? Ability to make sound judgments ? Common Sense Languages: Java/J2EE, Cold Fusion, VB/ASP/COM, XJT,;XML, VBScript, Java Script/ Jscript, Relational databases and SQL (Microsoft) Physical Requirements: May be required to move and sort through various amounts of paperwork and documents that may be in boxes (estimated up to 40 lbs). May be required to work long hours under pressure while resolving critical issues.
