Description: Our customer here in the greater Harrisburg, PA area is in need of a qualified VB6 developer to join a 3+ month contract opportunity. Our client would like to have the ability to convert the right applicant for full time, permanent placement. For the time being the contract budget is fixed for at least 3 months with renewal and option for permanent hire. To qualify for this job, candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience working with VB6. Applicants must be comfortable with Full Software Development Life Cycle Development. Any experience with SQL or ORACLE is helpful. Some new development will be a part of the day to day duties, but more than 75% of the work will be based upon maintenance of existing systems. Best applicants will be local to the south central Pennsylvania area with a solid expertise working with VB6. Communication skills must be excellent. Personalities must be strong and self starters. Candidates can not be afraid to ask questions and take initiative in order to head up this application development effort. Individuals are required to take a technical assessment prior to personal interview to measure VB6 development skills. Professional references and must be provided prior to hire. Applicants must be comfortable working in Berwick onsite for at least a 3 month contract period on a W2 basis. Per Diem will be awarded pending federal qualifications and geographic location. Again, candidates with in commutable distance to Harrisburg are highly desired.
