Description . Under direct supervision, responsible for program analysis, design and specification for own programs . Under general supervision responsible for coding, testing, debugging and implementation into production TheProgrammer / Analyst will serve as a contributor to the FA PB Desktop team. He/she will code a set of functions or related functions in accordance to the FAPB Desktop architecture and firm standards. An overview of the responsibilities is as follows: * Own the coding of assigned units of work, execute the assigned project tasks * Collaborate with Sr Technical Specialist and/or PM to ensure transparency of work * Provide support of production support issues and BAU work The Programmer Analyst will work closely with the members of the development team, as well as the PM and PL and must be able to work in a collaborative teams. TECHNOLOGY COMPETENCIES . Satisfy programming requirements for the unit of work assigned, with moderate supervision, within the budgeted timeframe . Have extensive platform knowledge . Exhibit a disciplined approach in unit and component testing to ensure zero defects . Determine the appropriate nit test case, including functional and regression cases . Perform analysis and design on the component level . Complete appropriate direction regarding project priorities, milestones and initiatives . Assist in hardware and software set up . Assist in ensuring that systems are not vulnerable to known security exploits SYSTEMS SUPPORT . Possess root cause analysis skills; able to quickly analyze and interpret code . Escalate support issues appropriately . Take ownership for issues; actively seek to expand understanding of issues; follow up on resolution even when resolved by other . Participate in post-project reviews when appropriate COMMUNICATION . Communicate with team leader regarding specifications and requirements relevant to specific unit of work . Communicate interdependencies between components . Possess effective written communication skills LEADERSHIP . Understand own role within a team and impact upon others . Work towards common goals of team (work well with others)

Specifications / Qualifications * 1-3+ years experience in technical programming; preferably in financial services industry * Ability to learn new technologies and stay abreast of emerging technologies. * Must have strong communication skills. Job requires interfacing with other technology delivery teams, architecture, strategy and business users. TECHNICAL SKILLS: 1-3+ years in Java / J2EE Development, Java Skills: Java (Servlets, JSP, Struts, Java Beans, EJB, JDBC, RMI, Core Java, XML, Java Networking), Database: DB2 (Z/os preferred); SOA and FLEX, a plus. NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS:Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to work well with others. Financial industry experience preferred. Proactive, can-do attitude a must.
