Area Overview As part of a small IT team in the Markets Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, working closely with the groups Architect, plan, build, and deploy an access control system to meet the evolving access control requirements of the Markets groups 30+ applications. This system will feature workflow, escalation and notification features. The job requires technical project management as well as software development. Applicant should be able to deliver all phases of the project lifecycle. Restrictions: Weekend Production deployments required.

Job Responsibilities

* Plan, build, and deploy an access control system within the departmental and system-wide constraints; * Work with the Architect and Staff Coordinator to implement release management standards for the project and for the group such as source code control, requirements and defect tracking, and QA certification; * Work closely with Markets Group, outside vendors, FRIT, and other Bank automation staff to ensure a smooth integration of resources; * Update management on project status and measures of success .

Job Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and/or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in software development and technical production application support; * In-depth knowledge of J2EE, XML, and Web Services; * Experience with the following development-related technology: UNIX (Solaris), MS Window server, Oracle, and UNIX/Windows integration; * Experience with the Rational Unified Process or Agile software development methodology; * Demonstrable resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving; * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the Bank and FRS management and staff; and * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable: * Spring, Hibernate, RSA, Oracle 10i, XML, UML.
