Description: Our client is a leader in the Investment Banking industry The FI team is responsible for building and maintaining the software that is used by Asset Management's fixed income trading desks globally. In addition to a trading platform, the systems cover the entire investment process from portfolio analysis, trade planning and execution through to risk management, performance attribution and reporting.



We are currently engaged in major projects to re-engineer our infrastructure and to support the business as it expands into new products and new markets. The team consists of about 21 developers in NY and 10 developers in London. Recruitment is for the NY team.



The Role

The Candidate will interact with the business users to define requirements and will work on design and implementation of client and server components within a distributed Java / Unix / EJB framework, and will support and enhance existing applications. Good understanding of database modeling and performance tuning is required.



The candidate should be prepared to proactively drive projects, manage his users and effectively interact with the team members as well as other technology teams in a fast paced environment.



Requirements

2-3 years experience

Very Strong technical, communication and analytical skills

Desire to grow career in technology while acquiring in-depth business knowledge of the areas supported

Mandatory: Java, JSP, SQL (Sybase preferred), UNIX, scripting, XML

Desirable: J2EE/EJB
