Description: Developer (Programmer)

seeking consulting services for an experienced Natural / Adabase Programmer to maintain an existing application and perform data extract / conversion activities. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting problems, supporting critical changes and leading the activities involving conversion tasks pertaining to the VENDEX System owned and maintained by the Mayor's Office of Contracts (MOCS). The candidate will work at MOCS and have access and support of FISA personnel through the FMS/3 Project.



The candidate will be expected to perform the following:

" Ramp up on existing application functionality meeting with business owners and performing code analysis.

" Code and Test fixes or necessary changes to application - reviewing test results with business owners for validation.

" Perform data extracts and analysis in support of a conversion effort into a new application being developed through the FMS/3 Project.

" Create documentation package describing implemented changes - and other components of the application, as necessary.



The individual filling this position should have deep experience with the following:

" Software AG products including: ADABASE and either NATURAL, NATURAL II, or SuperNatural.

" Candidate should be proficient working in a Mainframe environment.

" Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to support meeting with business users to develop and document software requirements and subsequent coding of programs.



Good work task organizational skills and detailed follow-through skills are required to monitor and report on the status of development and to resolve issues that are uncovered. The individual will work independently with a wide latitude for independent judgment and must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
