Job Title: Lead Application Developer Job Location: Great Neck, NY Salary: $70K - $85K DOE

Our client provides collaborative payment and invoice automation solutions to corporations, financial institutions and banks around the world. The companys solutions are used to streamline, automate and manage processes and transactions involving global payments, invoice approval, purchase-to-pay, collections, cash management and document process automation. Organizations trust these solutions to meet their needs for cost reduction, competitive differentiation and optimization of working capital. The Lead Application Developer will report to the Development Managers. The Lead Application Developer will be responsible for leading the technical team in the design, development, testing and deployment of banking applications using Webseries, our clients platform for banking and payment systems. Implements best practices to ensure high quality software. Works closely with the Project Managers on managing the clients expectations and project plan. Works closely with the Business Analysts on requirements and specifications. Works closely with clients to analyze system requirements and manage expectations. Responsibilities: o Lead technical teams in client projects, both on client sites and in home office. o Run client JAD sessions to gather application specifications. o Understand and be conversant with the client business o Make technical decisions based on the functionality to be delivered in an application and system architecture constraints. o Write and maintain technical design documentation. o Estimate level of effort for tasks on the project plan o Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress of team members to meet task deadlines o Manage development activities to ensure code is high quality. o Communicate technical progress to clients and project management. o Understand and communicate the impact of changes to the application to management, development, QA, and the client. o Provide technical analysis of specifications and alternative solutions to requirements. o Co-ordinate activities with quality assurance personnel on defect resolution o Co-ordinate activities with quality assurance personnel on user acceptance testing activities o Mentor team members in development and design o Implement and ensure development best practices are followed. o Perform regular code reviews. o Drive technical teams to benefit from the re-use of existing functionality. o Analyze and troubleshoot system issues. o Increase personal technical skills and industry knowledge

Qualifications: o Strong technical skills in Java, JSP, Javascript , ORACLE, SQL, WebSphere, WebLogic, IBM MQ, UNIX, XML. o Strong technical project management skills. o Experience with all phases of SDLC. o Ability to manage many tasks at one time. o Experience with developing technical design specifications from functional specifications. UML experience desired. o Experience managing a project plan, including development tasks, estimates, milestones. o Ability and comfort to assign tasks to team members and manage team to complete tasks on-time, on-budget and to a high degree of quality o Ability to perform peer reviews of developed software to ensure high levels of quality o Ability to read, understand and be able to develop software from functional and technical specifications. o Strong written communication skills. (MS Office skills, specifically MS Excel & Word) o Strong problem solving skills. o Strong mentoring and leadership skills o Ability to review software designs and implementations strategies and provide feedback in relationship to quality (maintainability, scalability, reliability, etc) o Ability to review code and pin-point defects (and/or ability to program software modules) o Ability to follow test scripts from Quality Assurance in addition to independent unit testing of functionality of Web applications, both front-end UI as well as back-end Databases, Application Servers, and Services under multiple operating systems. o Understanding of most concepts, practices, and procedures of the banking industry o Willingness to travel for on-site requirement reviews, installations, and support.

Education and Experience: o 4 year degree in Computer Science. o 5+ years development experience using industry standard development languages such as J2EE o 3+ years as a team leader of a software development project, managing a staff of 4-8 developers. o 3+ yearsEnterpriseclass internet application architecture, design and development o 3+ years working with banking or financial industry applications preferred, but not required.
