BASIC FUNCTION: ****We are only accepting resumes from candidates who are part of M&Ts technology division - if you are not part of technology, your resume will not be considered until after February 28th **** As part of M&Ts Web Banking & Support Services within Central Technology the Computer System Administrator would fill a key role bridging the gap between Application Development & Support resources and Infrastructure Support resources while performing System Administrator duties in a primarily Microsoft Server environment. Performs day-to-day monitoring and support activities, project related implementations and upgrades, and disaster recovery testing supporting a diverse set of distributed and web based applications. Evaluate client requirements and processes, develops, implements, and documents platform recommendations supporting a diverse set of technologies and business units. Close work with team members on project and maintenance efforts to provide quality backup support for platforms supported primarily by other team members. RESPONSIBILITIES: Participation in project of all sizes for a wide variety of internal clients. Computer platform design to insure high availability and recoverability while maintaining good performance. System administration of a wide variety of Windows based applications and technologies in a corporate computing environment. Monitoring and management of server resources and performance Attend meetings, analyze functional specifications, creation of implementation plans, task list, and task documentation, and then task execution to support project and maintenance needs. Analysis, research, and resolution of complex and dynamic problem in a high visibility position BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 2 - 4 years of college (or equivalent experience) and at least 4-8 years of experience. Strong Windows OS administration experience Experience with Microsoft IIS 5.0 & 6.0 Support for a variety of distributed applications and web technologies in a corporate infrastructure Excellent written and verbal communications skills to be able to present to a target audience Experience solving a wide variety of dynamic and complex problem in a high visibility position IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: SQL Server 2000 & 2005 experience VMS or Unix system experience Batch file/VB Script/WMI experience Advanced IIS and FTP configuration Project management experience Progress & Oracle Database
