Description Responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Smith Barneys Gain/Loss Analysis System (GLAS) and the Firms Electronic Broker Book (EBOOK). This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly visible area and gain an in-depth understanding of the brokerage business by interfacing with numerous businesses and technical areas. The GLAS/EBOOK applications, currently with a staff of 7 people, supports Branch Administration, Statement Marketing, Client Experience, GLAS Operations and many other product areas while maintaining tax lot data on over 9,000,000 accounts. The candidate will combine brokerage business knowledge with a mainframe technical background to support aggressive initiatives to improve Firm client experiences and challenging tax lot accounting principles. Major Responsibilities: * Design, develop, test and successfully implement projects * Satisfy programming requirements for the unit of work assigned, with minimal supervision, within the budgeted timeframe * Proactively analyze and propose system improvement solutions, optimizations, and automation * Participate in the gathering, writing and reviewing of business requirements and translating into functional specifications (FRD process) * Understand all business initiatives relative to the GLAS and EBOOK systems and their requirements * Production support responsibilities
