POSITION
Jr. Web Developer
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position works with business representatives, analysts and team members to utilize the UPS processes and requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. The primary goal of the Jr. Web Developer is to work on projects of low to moderate complexity translating requirements to program specifications for programming.
The successful candidate will work with Internal Auditors to develop application requirements used to develop online Intranet applications and maintain existing web applications and Internal Audit website.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VB Script, Cold Fusion, SQL Server.
• Knowledge of MS Office, Oracle, ASP and SharePoint a plus.
• May require increased knowledge of multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge of a specific business area.
• Proficiency in programming languages used in the organization.
• Broad understanding of programming logic concepts.
• May have knowledge of various approaches in designing, coding and debugging programs.
• Broad knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services and processes.
• Broad understanding of programming logic concepts and application analysis and design techniques.
• Information systems knowledge.
• Beginning level of knowledge of the quality techniques, methodologies, and tools.
• Beginning level of risk management knowledge.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• As needed, works with team members, support groups, and vendors.
• May document own work and reports work progress to supervisor.
• May participate in the project planning process with team members and provide status reports for all assignments.
• May participate in the evaluation of and provide recommendations for application packages.
• Assists in gathering data for buy vs. build recommendations.
• May offer suggestions for improvement when application weaknesses are identified.
• May participate in basic project planning sessions with team members to analyze requirements.
• May assist in the development of conversion and migration designs.
• Translates written design requirements into application code or modules.
• Develops or modifies software application modules using disciplined software development processes.
• Adheres to quality standards and procedures.
• Develops, conducts and maintains test plans in one or more of the following testing activities: volume/stress, unit, system and integration testing.
• Documents program modules and testing activities/results.
• Provides Third Level application support and maintenance and documents problems and resolutions.
• Provides ongoing maintenance of applications.
• Monitors system statistics and reports. Identifies system issues by looking for trends and anomalies.
• May provide technical coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Performs some more advanced functions as part of training and development.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience. One year experience in area of specialization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Do you have 1-3 years programming experience?
Do you have any relatives who work for UPS or any of its Subsidiaries?
Are you a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer?
Are you willing to work in Ramsey, NJ?
