Secret Location Columbia, MD % Travel Relocation No Requirements The Intelligence and Information Solutions Business Unit currently has an opening for a WebLogic Administrator/J2EE Developer. JOB DESCRIPTION: The WebLogic Administrator/J2EE Developer will be responsible for daily monitoring of WebLogic logs for 3 applications in production, troubleshooting problems/errors, and maintaining metrics of encountered problems. He or she will assess the current production environment and suggest performance tuning of the WebLogic configuration. Responsibilities also include keeping each applications WebLogic configuration consistent in multiple development/test environments, as well as developing and maintaining documentation and specifications on system builds and standard operating procedures. The WebLogic Administrator will be a main point of contact for application deployment and production support of patching efforts; occasional weekend work will be necessary. This position requires working in a group environment with system administrators, database administrators, software developers and Information Assurance team members. The candidate must be able to create/follow detailed installation plans, document the installation process, quantify the deployment effort and complete the installation work Some J2EE experience is required to participate in code reviews, and assist with development efforts when required. The environment is n-tier and includes Apache, WebLogic, Oracle 10g Application Server and a RAC 3 node Oracle 10g database, hosted on servers using the Solaris 9 and 10 operating systems. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: THIS POSITION REQUIRES AND ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE AND THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A TOP SECRET CLEARANCE. Bachelors degree in related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) and 8+years experience. Advanced degree in related technical field desired. Minimum 3 years of WebLogic Administration experience. Java/J2EE development experience. Thorough understanding of OO principles, knowledge of programming best practices, and the ability to effectively apply design patterns. Expert analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical, business, and design information. Experience with n-tier development using technologies such as JSPs, Servlets, JavaScript, Struts, and persistence-layer development using EJBs. Experience with the Apache web server and WebLogic 8.1. DESIRED SKILLS: Experience with WebLogic 10 migration. Current knowledge of Java/J2EE development trends and technologies. Experience with the JUnit testing framework. Familiarity with the Joint Task Force - Global Network Operations vulnerability assessment and remediation process. Unix shell scripting skills. Experience configuring logs for intrusion detection and other security infractions.
