Primary Responsibilities: * Manage the creation of ancillary benefits proposals and maintain the information databases and other tools used to support them. * Manage the case specific proposal process at the direction of director, team leader and internal customer. * Coordinate the formatting, production and distribution of proposals with internal staff. * Coordinate the research and development of responsive and timely proposals with other functional areas such as Underwriting and Client Administration. * Ensure the timely delivery of a quality proposal product that meets or exceeds the customers expectations. * Develop and maintain sales support tools, especially the information database used in the proposal process. * Complete all project-related work in a timely, productive manner. * Understand the sales plan and apply that understanding to meet customer and department objectives * Maintain and enhance business skills, including understanding health care industry, managed care trends, computer-assisted and other productivity tools that enhance both individual performance and overall unit performance * Participate in all relevant training opportunities. * Participate on project teams and ensure that project related tasks meet quality and timeliness expectations. * Constructively recommend specific ways Proposal Development can improve the quality of its work and the efficiency of its operations.

Qualifications Qualifications: * Customer Orientation: * Develop strong relationships with internal customers that help to produce high quality work. * Focus on understanding the needs of the customer and managing to the customers expectations. * Position UnitedHealthcares products and services in terms of the customers view point in the production of proposals and other sales support products. * Communication Skills: * Strong written communication skills including technical writing skills. * Effectively package and position UnitedHealthcares products against our competitors. * Capable of working directly with Subject Matter Experts to add high-quality content to different sales support tools. * Ability to convey complex thoughts, both written and oral in a clear, concise, and timely fashion, tailored to the audience. * Initiates timely, appropriate communication with others. * Listen well; ask questions effectively to gain information or clarify understanding in order to ensure high-quality work. * Alliance Building Skills: * Create, build, and maintain relationships that enhance both individual performance and the performance of the unit, including those outside his/her own unit; resolve conflicts; invite others to share their perspectives, and is respectful of differing points of views. * Strong negotiation skills. * Change Agent - self-starter; able to adapt to rapidly changing conditions; seek ways to improve the process; demonstrate creativity; anticipate problems and seek out alternative to solve problems before they become obstacles, is flexible and able to cope with changing conditions. * Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. * Basic knowledge of UnitedHealthcares products and services or health care industry. * Solid computer skills, especially with Word, Excel and Access. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Intense customer focus.
