The Senior PHP Developer will perform daily development in a LAMP (the "P" is primarily PHP, in this case) environment building standards-compliant, cross-browser/platform web applications; define the technical architecture of projects; identify, evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, methodologies and processes; provide peer reviews of code generated by other members of the team; and maintain and refactor existing code on a scheduled release cycle. As a Senior PHP Developer, candidates must be prepared to provide leadership and guidance to other team members as needed. Skills/Qualifications . 3+ years of PHP development experience . Proven experience designing and developing object-oriented PHP solutions . A solid understanding of object oriented concepts and principles . A familiarity with object oriented design patterns . Expert knowledge of PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and Javascript . Familiarity with the mechanics of an end-to-end HTTP request including the wares responsible for handling those requests . Server familiarity (Linux, Apache, MySQL) Nice to Have . Experience working with either the jQuery or Prototype Javascript library . Knowledge of and enthusiasm for web standards . Web Services and APIs Responsibilities . Define technical architectures that identify technologies required, integration points between the technologies and the processes that support that integration . Transform wireframes, prototypes and/or simple screen shots into fully functional, dynamic applications using object oriented PHP . Participating in the identification and implementation of software engineering best practices . Writing cross-browser, standards-compliant XHTML and CSS . Perform peer reviews . Staying abreast of and educating others on the latest techniques and methodologies of engineering web applications .
