Description: Our client is a leader in the Investment Banking industry. About the Position:



This position is for an experienced developer to work directly with

trading, research, market risk and middle office.



Projects you may work on include an integrated analytics, pricing and risk

management platform, an electronic trading platform, a consolidated trade capture/position management/PL platform, a sensitivity/exposures orchestration platform and a variety of trading, offering, cash-flow

structuring, derivatives, database, market surveillance projects.



We support a trading-floor environment where shifting business priorities and an iterative approach to requirements is customary. Many requirements will be acquired verbally and you need to be prepared to rationalize them.



Candidates should have experience with a variety of operating environments and programming languages including Unix and Windows, C++, Java, C#, Perl, shells, make and friends, SQL databases, in-memory databases, multi threading/synchronization and distributed computing. Candiates should also be adept with debugging tools and analyzing complex distributed systems. Contributing to all levels of an

application from front end to back end, are generally platform agnostic and you prefer the right tool for the right job.



Challenging technical and business issues will exist and you need to own them and eradicate them. Your solutions withstand professional scrutiny and can stand the test of time. You should also be comfortable operating in multi-functional teams and debating the merits of competing technology and operational choices in a frank and open manner. You have a can-do, go-to-person persona and an open, enthusiastic attitude and positive leadership tendencies.



Summary of Skills:

5+ Years of Application Development work experience

5+ Years of architecture, design, coding, testing, and debugging and implementation

5+ Years experience in a client server environment

4+ JAVA or C++ programming

3+ Years of Sybase/Oracle Development

2+ Years of UNIX Shell Scripting

Good understanding of Fixed Income Cash and Derivative Securities Processing

At least three successful years at a large financial institution doing similar work



Programming experience in C# is plus.

Background in systems project life cycle with emphasis on JAVA/C++, Sybase, C++, Unix, performance tuning or similar knowledge required

Expert in data management, relational, or object-oriented systems

Good Communication skills (written and oral) are MUST.

Results oriented and highly flexible

Demonstrate experience in high pressured and fast paced environment

Ability to communicate at multiple levels across Application Development and the business

Ability to identify and clearly communicate problems/support requests in order to influence the prioritization of production defects and/or enhancements

At least three successful years at a large financial institution doing similar work

Provide technology solutions by investigating existing architecture
