None Location Washington, DC % Travel 0 Relocation No Requirements The Homeland Security Solutions Division currently has an opening for an ETL Developer. Job Description: The Extraction Transformation and Load (ETL) Developer for the Enterprise Data Warehouse will be part of a team to identify requirements, design, develop, test, and implement multiple iterations of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Data Warehouse environment. The ETL Developer will be responsible for ETL processes and tools as well as database loading and manipulation. This individual will carry primary responsibility for ensuring that the data needs for the project are met throughout the course of the project. Responsibilities include: -Interpret the transformation rules for all target data objects and develop the software components to support the transformation -Automate the ETL process through scheduling and exception-handling routines as well as source to target mapping development, support, and maintenance -Deploy an error management mechanism to capture all relevant error information and associate data in a manner that can be re-processed independently -Provide thorough metrics to measure progress and accuracy of data transfers -Deploy data cleansing requirements in a fashion that can be enhanced over time and executed on demand -Assist with development of testing methods including stress testing and execute test plans, loads and validate loaded data -Assist with design and implementation of data staging areas, data warehouse, Data Marts, OLAP cubes and other data stores -Assist with repository administration and reporting, including providing runtime statistics, maintaining project configuration and permissions, and performing migrations between environments -Mentor and train other project staff -Performance tuning and monitoring of ETL processes, jobs and extractions. Education: B.S/B.A. in Computer Science, Communications, or related field an 8 years of experience. Any combination of Education, Certifications, Training, and experience to include Data Warehouse that is equivalent to 14 years of experience will be considered in lieu of 4 year degree. Required Skills: Three years hands-on experience with Informatica application for the ETL tools. Excellent working knowledge of RDBMS and other data technologies e.g., Oracle, IDMS, other (e.g., SQL Server, IBM DB2, UDB). Detailed knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mart physical RDBMS schemata. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust Suitability. Desired Skills: Strong Development Life Cycle Methodology experience. Experience with Data Quality tools such as Trillium software and BI tools such as Hyperion are a plus.
