Description: Desktop Developer Tracking Code 8227 Job Description * The Desktop Developer will create, maintain, and develop Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, and Windows Vista desktop images.a * He or she will create secure desktop images in accordance to NIST / CIS guidelines utilizing Group Policy and Security Configuration analysis tools.a * The Desktop Developer will also create customized software deployment packages utilizing Wise Installer, SMS, Group Policy Objects, and Visual Basic scripts.a * Finally, the selected individual will be responsible for creating simple documentation packages which include requirements, detailed design, testing and implementation plans. Required Skills * Complete understanding ofa the interaction with desktop clients and services such as Windows Active Directory architecture, authentication, DHCP, and DNS.a * Must be knowledgeable in operating system deployment tools such as Ghost, Drive Image Pro, Sysprep, and Remote Installation Services, as well as packaging tools such as Wise.a * Visual Basic or other scripting skills preferred.a * In addition to technical knowledge, candidates must possess strong troubleshooting skills and communication skills Required Experience * The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing Windows desktops and developing images and software packages.a * Experience working in a mid- to large-scale environment with at least 1,000 workstations is preferred.a Job Location Washington, DC, US.
