That is the key point. Sure you can add aplications. But they are
added *to the Netinstall [full OS] image*.

If my PC is running OS X and I am put through this process my boot OS
is completely LOST and replaced by the Netinstall image (which can be
OS and applications and utilities).

There is no way to add applications to MY OS. Just to add them to
new Netinstall images.

Is anyone else besides Alan and Tim confused about how this works?

BTW, I didn't "neglect to read" anything in the document. The
difference is I also comprehended it.
