This is the first time I've read that article, but it describes
approximately how I managed to keep one Mighty Mouse working OK from
when they first came out until the present time. What I found I had to
do is turn the mouse upside down and vigorously rub the mouse ball on
a clean handkerchief. Done approximately once a week (once the ball
started to get difficult to roll) kept the MM scrolling happily for
over 3 years.
