Then you are either an electronic hermit or plain ignorant about the
spam problem (or perhaps just lying through your teeth).

Professionally: Try working as an admin for any ISP with an in-house
mail server for a few months and see if you change your mind.

Privately: Count your spam after your mail has been in use for more than
a year and in wide circulation through mailing lists and acquaintances.

Good for you, but I'm sorry to say I don't share your masochism.

I made the mistake of using my real email on Usenet about 8 years ago. 5
years ago I had to shut it down due to it being choked by spam (300+
tagged spams per week before i killed it). I experimentally reopened it
2 years ago to see if the torrent had subsided - it hadn't (it started
recieving spam IMMEDIATELY when the account went active - around 30 a
day for the duration I kept it open).

I shut it down again, and reopened it (again, experimentally) 2 weeks
ago. It still recieves spam, but "only" 5 a day, likely due to my ISP's
agressive filtering.
