The 'ratio' isn't the issue. you could improve that by reducing image
searches, which would be loopy!
treat the two as separate, which they are.
1. You don't have an image search problem
Great!
2. You do have a text search problem.
Two major issues:
A. Your site appears in sevral places:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~vanluynm/, http://www.review-a-gadget.com/,
http://review-a-gadget.com/ - at best, this divides your visitors between
three sites - and your ranking.
At worst, it can stop people finding your pages.
B. You have virtually no text. on many key pages. If you want to be found in
text searches, you need text for the SEs to compare with search terms.
Example:
Your front page includes the text "remote controlled helicopter" - but the
page you are taken to does not include that text - or virtually any other
potential search terms, other than two product names.
You need to get in your potential customers heads, and be sure the terms
they might use are included.
By the way, I suspect Google has noticed the spam links on your front page
and counted them against you.
You need to familiarise yourself with SE guidelines - you don't have to
follow them. But they don't have to index your pages, either. So treating
Google as if they are stupid is a tad unlikely to improve your visitor
numbers. Just a thought ;o)
And even if Google hasn't noticed, how long before a competitor dobs you in?

First things first - but not necessarily in that order.
