Bush showed his true grit when his father pulled the political strings
that got him into the Air National Guard and he took it. I have more
respect for those who refused to go and then accepted the
responsibility for their decision... Bush essentially ducked *both*.
I have serious issues with Kerry's politics; however, he got on the
boat. Maybe his PH was cheap (that's the best kind), but it's
definitely real. Even Bill Clinton, who isn't known for taking
responsibility for his actions until he's cornered, admitted that he
opted out of Vietnam.
