Cleburne, Sigel, and Osterhaus, all major generals, are the ones I was
thinking of when I asked for clarification. But I must say I had forgotten
Meade's birthplace was elsewhere. Very good.

I had previously mentioned Pickett, Custer, and Mason for other answers.

The last question was well phrased, as folks like Sigel and Osterhaus weren't
West Point men, but did have military training in their native lands. There
are more than three, but you didn't say "only" this time. :-) So,
McClernand, Banks, and Butler are three of many I'd offer. Others like
Chamberlain and Logan fit, but I'd hate to mention them in the same sentence
as McClernand. :-)
